Monday, 31st August, 2026 marked the 54th birthday of Jord International. Offices across the globe have celebrated with lunches, golf, bowling and more.
It all started with a handwritten note in 1972, which was Jord’s very first order for a rotary drum vacuum filter to help filter sugar cane mud, received by founders Phil Blundell and John Holden. “The order was handwritten by the mill manager… There were no terms and conditions. No delivery date. Everybody just knew the filter had to be there for the start of the sugar crushing season,” said Phil. Peter Olsen was engaged to draw up that first order, working from a drawing board set up in his mother’s unit in Kirribilli, Sydney.
From that humble beginning, Jord has spent 54 years nurturing innovation and pushing boundaries, expanding our technology offering to operate on a global scale.
Today, our people span 31 nationalities, 34 languages and 17 offices.
