Our task was to assist in the commercialization of manganese ore tailings lying unloved on a remote island off the coast of Australia’s Northern Territory. Collaborating with our client via a feasibility study and subsequent laboratory test work, we ultimately arrived at an efficient and reliable filtration solution, to dewater manganese concentrate produced by a bank of reflux classifiers.
The ability for the dewatering technology to effectively handle fluctuating product grades and variable feed rates was fundamental to the project’s success. Another challenge was to manage the slimes that came with the 130 TPH of final product.
The remote site favoured a modular delivery of the horizontal vacuum belt filter, thereby reducing installation and commissioning time.
