This turnkey contract with Indonesian Independent Power Producer (IPP) PT Kartanegara Energi Perkasa (KEP) involves the conversion of a 92MW open cycle power plant into a 117MW combined cycle one.   The open cycle plant runs off two GE LM6000 gas turbines.

Our task was to convert the power plant into a 2:2:1 configuration by adding two un-fired, dual pressure, natural circulation HRSG’s and one Siemens SST 300 steam turbine.

Auxiliary plant included in the scope comprised a sea water cooling system using a cooling tower, reverse osmosis and mixed beds for water treatment and demineralising, a condensate and feedwater system, electrical equipment for HV, MV and LV DC circuits and a UPS/DCS system.

The two units have reached mechanical completion and are pictured below.  Cold commissioning commenced in November 2019.  Covid-19 subsequently put a halt to hot commissioning and performance testing.  Jord’s service team remains on stand-by to carry out this work with our customer once conditions on site are more favourable.
